trailer light issues?

On my Dad's 2000 F150 4x4 7700 tow package truck, the backup lights and running lights don't have power at the 7 pin trailer connector since the last time I had the trailer in the water (my buddy had the lighs on when it went into the water). The brake and turn signals do work.

I've checked the trailer, and all lights still work. I checked all the fuses in the truck that had anything to do with exterior signals or trailer stuff. And all fuses were good.

Any help much appreciated?

lost my brakes to trailer last week. burnt out the brake controller. started checking and found the backside of the 6 pin plug all corroded and wires shorted out between terminals.--- worth a look.

Similar problem with mine, found that the connector behind the driver's rear wheel has problems. Had no choice at the time but to rig it by jumpering over it with some wires I had. Works good now...

gtex, mine does the exact same thing, I thought I shorted it out or something. I have been wanting to fix this for quite some time, thanks for posting the question! I can't wait to hear the answer.
