P0750 help

My daughter got a CEL and we pulled a p0750 code. Truck seems to be shifting fine now, but she said earlier it was shifting "funny." Her words. Going to clean the trans position sensor connection in a bit and see if it'll clear the code. Anyone else have experience with this?

I cleaned the connection on the sensor a couple nights ago. Deleted the code. CEL stayed off, daughter reports it has been shifting fine. Did also add about a quart of fluid. No leaks noted when I was underneath other than oil pan seepage.
This afternoon my daughter came home from school for lunch and the truck started rolling back when she put it in park. I took a look for a few minutes and couldn't get the truck to rock when I tried, but it also won't start now. Would a faulty sensor cause this? Maybe bad linkage? No more CEL so I have not checked for any codes.

Why? What led you to the trans position sensor? The code says Shift Solenoid A Malfunction. That has nothing to do with the position sensor.

No.

You should check for codes.

Underneath the instrument panel, at the end of the steering column are two #30 Torx bolts that hold the shift cable bracket to the shift tube. These bolts are known to loosen and cause the trans to not go all the way into park. Crawl under the dash and look up the steering column.

I crawled underneath with my wife inside the truck. Had her try shifting. Shift cable is toast. Ford dealership had one in stock and cheaper than Autozone. I'll swap it tomorrow.

FYI, when I looked up the code the position sensor came up as one of the possible problems.

The position sensor cannot cause a P0750 code.

Swapped out the shift cable. Pretty far gone. Shifts fine now.

Hello,
turkish citizenship
Why? What brought you to the transposition sensor in the first place? Shift Solenoid A Malfunction is written in the code. The position sensor has nothing to do with this.

I could see it while underneath. It became apparent when my wife shifted. It was pretty much right in the middle of the cable.
