I have been troubleshooting some intermittent electrical issues (accessory delay circuit dies). I was narrowing the problem down to an over-voltage issue with the alternator, last night I confirmed that's likely the issue. After starting the truck within 5 seconds the accessory delay circuit died, I checked the voltage on a power port and it was 15 - 15.5 volts. Within 5 seconds the power was back to about 14 volts and the accessory circuit came back on OK. Now the power door locks will not lock, either by keyfob, door switch (driver or pass) or outside keypad. They all unlock OK. When I hit the lock button I hear a very faint click behind the dash behind the HVAC controls. The unlock cycle has a much more notable click of a relay in the same area, and it works. Fuses are all OK. Keyfob & keypad will unlock OK, auto headlights and headlight delay is OK. I was able to find some '02 schematics online and it looks like two different relays within the VSM control door locks (one for lock one for unlock), not sure if the '03 is designed the same. I am wondering if my VSM is partially fried now? Has anyone experienced any similar issues? '03 V10 Limited
I kind of had this problem with my 02 v10. The windows would stop working, and the doors wouldn't lock/unlock. Turned out to be that accessory relay in the dash pod. And oh yes, the radio wouldn't come on. I mailed it off to the pod repair guys and they fixed it. It's all good now.
Hey Jim i have the same issue with the PDL and cant figure it out im posing my mind. What did u do to fix the problem ? Any advice woulf b a huge help. TIA.

Mine ended up being a weak relay in the VSM. I purchased another VSM from an EX being parted out. Plugged it up and my power door lock issues were resolved. Now I just need to get it reprogrammed for my truck's options and I'll be good to go. I don't know if the VSM was failing or the alternator voltage spikes caused the damage to the VSM (or a combination of the two).
