can you post the light info part numbers and also how you mounted them did you have to cut out parts of the grill for the lights to fit in?
RIGID INDUSTRIES SR-Series DOT/SAE J583 6 Inch Selective Yellow LED Fog Light: 906704
Yes, I had to cut some of the plastic out of the grill to get them to fit. I used the brackets that came with the light, they worked, but if I had more time on my hands, I probably would have made mine own.
dmike25, I have a 2020STX F250 and am looking to add foglights as well. Do you mind sharing the name of the shop you found in Missouri that had a lot of bumpers? I am located in central Arkansas and have not found any nearby. Thanks.
@SteveInLR, It's A&R Sales in Washburn. The guy I talked to said they've put on a lot of ranchhands. He told me they have several bumpers, but he was sure they didn't have one off a 22. He did some checking while we were on the phone and decided the 22's are different than the 17-21 so I didn't bother going up there to shop. Sounded like they probably have one for your truck. My phone told me they were 40 minutes northeast of Bentonville.
Hope this helps, good luck!
The 1999-2005 SD OEM fog lights were mounted inboard of the tow hooks. Both my '01 and '05 Excursions had 'em located there.
cficare, I think that's the solution to my problem! Looking at pictures of the year models you mention on the internet it's obvious the location will work. And there's a lot of em for sale! I can't find any dimensions for the mounting bracket. I'm going to order a set of replacements from a local auto parts store and if they don't work I'll find some 3" cubes. I do need to figure out how to remove the grill on this 22, it's nothing like the grill on the 12 I've had for 10 years!
@pruav, I like it. Unfortunately the tow hook mounting bolts on the 22 aren't exposed like they are on your truck. There is room for a 18 or 19" bar behind the license plate mount. If the factory 99 - 05 brackets won't fit I'll probably fab a couple of mounts and get some rigids or similar.
Problem solved! The boss was in town and he authorized me to spend some money on lights. Since I'm living in a hotel I don't have access to the tools I have at home to fabricate and install anything I dream up. I found a local shop who sold and installed a pair of Heise 3" cubes (HE-BCF32PK). They're floods not fogs, but they light up the jobsite early in the morning which was my goal. Now my next project for this new truck, running a wire to the back so I can turn on the reverse camera when I'm not in reverse. That'll be another whole nuther topic.
Thanks for all the input and help! Here's a picture of the lights. Looks like I've got a thing or two to learn about attaching pictures! Thanks again all!
