Thank you for the kind thoughts. We are on Skyline Blvd in southern San Mateo County. We happen to be in a place where winds from the NE tend to go right over the top of us. Even with the high winds that have been occurring, it has been relatively quiet here at the homestead. When the winds come from the usual storm direction (out of the south), it is quite a different matter.
When it's 60, instead of 55, it's a hot day here. I can take off the jacket and wear just a t-shirt.
The local Kroger Store had pork on sale for 99 cents a pound. It was the front quarter leg, with the bones. Tough, fibrous, strong muscles and connective tissue. I managed to take the bones out with a skinny, curved knife. Those Flintstone size pork bones make great stock. Then into the oven until the skin becomes crispy. The meat barely becomes edible after you thin slice it. This is not a luxury cut like pork loin. Beggars can't be choosers.

The company I work for, Lam Research is going to announce earnings after the close today. Hopefully the bloodshed is over for LRCX and the stock can get back on track!
Apparently the market didn't like the forecast for next quarter so the stock immediately dropped fifty bucks a share, but recovered some of that. Oh well, at least I wasn't planning on selling any shares anytime soon.
With any luck it'll stay depressed for about 5 more weeks. That's when I'll get a stock grant that's valued in dollars, but converted to shares on a certain date. I've been a buyer of ASML lately since they have a literal monopoly on some of the most critical machines used to produce computer chips. Even they have been knocked down a few notches.
Look at the five year chart on ASML. It'll start charging again this year, I think.
Yesterday, there was a raccoon in the back yard. Today, there was a dead raccoon in the yard. I actually thought about field dressing it, tanning the hide, and taking the meat. It went into a Trader Joe's 2 Buck Chuck box coffin, and got covered with dirt. It will decompose and enrich my soil. Maybe I can grow something yummy in that spot this year.
I've got to have a snack before I go drinking at the bar. Leftovers in the fridge. Ham & Egg, Ham & Cheese, combination sandwich. Leftover bread and leftover roast pork. I pickled some cabbage, carrot, and cucumber a few days ago, and that was still sitting around.
