I have the MX and it works well. Maybe the MX+ has been changed?

It looks like the MX+ is simply the updated version of the MX, it now just has support for all Apple devices and free OEM add ons. I wanted to get the MX+ for the bluetooth feature, but when I realized that they won't make changes to code I opted for the wired version. Turns out that's fine though, I ended up getting a Banks iDash so it stays plugged into my OBD port now. When I want to mess with Forscan I just unplug it, make the changes, then plug the iDash back up. Still though, according to the Forscan.org website, the "Lite" devices won't allow configuration and programming.

This is a nice piece of information for those just getting started using FORScan. I still use the MX that I bought way back in November 2017. In fact I just came in from the garage with it after using it to eliminate hyper flash from LED turn signals. (Another big thanks to ZooDad).
One would think that adding Plus to something wouldn't remove a previously usable feature. But I suppose stranger things have happened in the tech world. Personally, I wouldn't have a problem using a wired device if it came to that.

You can write, read, make changes etc. with the MX+. All the same things you can do with the wired version as long as your laptop has Bluetooth. I have both versions.

I did exactly what you are doing. I'm disappointed with the lights. I've been in rental cars that came stock with LED lights and rental cars are usually low trim level vehicles.

Thats good to know. Everything I read before buying mine indicated that the MX+ would do everything except write, including the current information posted on the Forscan.org site. Like I said though, I picked up a Banks iDash so I keep that plugged into my OBD port anyway… Maybe it just hasn’t been updated on the Forscan page. Thanks for confirming.

You have to have the full version to write though, on a laptop.

Ok... I see where I was thinking wrong, I didn't think about connecting the MX+ to a laptop... when I think bluetooth I think to either tablets or phones. That makes sense though being able to connect to a laptop via bluetooth. Thanks for clearing that up.
