Seems to be a bunch of hating on the Z pattern, but if the lights are adjusted properly you should only see that when up close to the object viewing it on (garage door). The father away from that item the smaller the Z becomes. After I installed them yesterday it was light out so I really couldn’t test the pattern, so last night I did, which is a pain in the *** by the way (not Morimoto’s fault, just access). When 25’ away from the building the Z is definitely visible, but once on the road good to go.
Until you drive on county roads with trees, hills, etc. It is definitely visible along with the areas that aren't lighted.
This is the low beam and high beam pattern on my XB’s
how far away is the truck from the wall in these pics? Is there a downward slope? Seems pretty low based on the instructions. If you’re happy with them that’s all that matters.

Its about 30 yards off the wall and I’m on the downward slope on the other side of the parking lot. Truck is nosed down pretty good in this pic. I just took the pic to show the low vs high beam pattern. That diagram is actually what I used to aim them on level ground.
Anyone who claims the stock halogen headlights are "TERRIBLE" is really really spoiled.
The standard headlights in my truck are really pretty good, and I hardly ever run the high beams,
And, most replacement LED headlight bulbs are just stupid bright .
I read all the forum comments on how bad SD halogen headlights were and was convinced I would need a dog and white cane to go to the drug store at 8:00 in the evening. On delivery I found the factory halogens more than adequate, especially the seldom used high beams. Way better than my earlier trucks. While they don't set the trees on fire like LEDs they will dry the rain off the leaves if you drive by slowly.
I replaced the H10 halogen bulbs in my fog lights simply because I prefer the amber color, so I got some SeaLight LED amber bulbs and kept the OEM housing. They are also much brighter. I was so pleased with just that $25 upgrade, I decided to get off the LED upgrade bus right there.
So it comes down to a want, not a need. I wanted red paint and paid $400 to get it. Weigh the cost/benefit and get what you want.

I had amber Fanteli bulbs for fogs previously. OK, but not fantastic. Just went with Auxito 6000 LM per set yellow fogs. $27 before 10% discount. This morning was the first run with them. I think they're going to do what I want.
I'm leaning this route until it proves ineffective (if it does).
What is Bambi mode?
It's legal, it's an improvement, and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
You need to make a change to the Ford programming with FORScan to allow the fogs to come on with high beam. Recommend it for true rural highway driving. Too many damn deer.

Showing my age here, but when I started driving, no cars/trucks had halogen headlights in them at all.
The standard headlights in my truck are really pretty good, and I hardly ever run the high beams, only use them to flash at the idiots who drive around with their high beams on all the time and refuse to dim them for oncoming drivers.
And, most replacement LED headlight bulbs are just stupid bright and don't put the light where it needs to be, just where it blinds other drivers.
Very true. I remember a time when halogen "sealed beam" headlights were the miracle light. LEDs were the little red things in the watch that some nerd was wearing.
I'm also of the opinion that the stock halogen are pretty good.

Do the fogs go off with high beams? I've run my fogs all the time, high or low, in my other trucks.
