As far as arguing with the self appointed headlight cops, that ship sailed for me a long time ago. They have their side of the street and I have mine. No one is changing anyone's mind so the discussion is pointless.
I went through the same thing with suspension. I appreciate all perspectives.
In the end it's all subjective. If these are brighter than any halogens you've ever had, then you indeed had some poor quality lighting.
But if you're OK with them that's all that matters. Having had LED replacements in several trucks, to me it literally is night and day. Again, it's all in the eye of the beholder.

I mean they have all been Ford's lights so, there's that.
Anyone who claims the stock halogen headlights are "TERRIBLE" is really really spoiled.
Showing my age here, but when I started driving, no cars/trucks had halogen headlights in them at all.
The standard headlights in my truck are really pretty good, and I hardly ever run the high beams, only use them to flash at the idiots who drive around with their high beams on all the time and refuse to dim them for oncoming drivers.
And, most replacement LED headlight bulbs are just stupid bright and don't put the light where it needs to be, just where it blinds other drivers.
I have a 2022 inbound that I have this same question, from what I have read (not definitive by any means) was the silverstars seem to be a decent upgrade.
I currently have a 2012 SD and tried the Morimoto XB full LED but did not care for them vs price. They also required 2 relays to function properly with turn signals. I'm sure just about anything is better than my stock 2012 headlight's.
I had the Morimoto XB Hybrid, and the stupid “z” shaped cutoff on them, annoyed the hell out of me. I sold them last week, and put my halogens back in. Truck is going away soon anyway, and I wanted the extra cash.

It was awful. And I honestly thought they’d be brighter for the money. Im hoping my factory LED’s are much better. My 2017 dually has halogens. I’ve never had factory LED’s before.
For someone who hasn't seen them, please say more. Is it only the hybrid?
I had the full led XB's for my 2012 and just finished the rma request.
It's like the top and the bottom straight line of the "Z" continue out to each side, so the top line goes to the left and the bottom goes to the right. the vertical distance between the top and bottom lines at the 25' mark was about 12-14" tall.
It's defiantly a choice one has to make for themselves.

Admittedly I've never had Morimoto. But once several years ago I got something similar albeit much lower budget than Morimoto. With those, there was a sharp cutoff. It was very bright close to the front of the truck, and then complete blackness. The was no gradual transition. Is that what the lights you describe are like?
I never could get used to them. Removed them from the truck and they sat in the box in my garage for several months before I got sick of tripping over them and sold them for about 25% of what I paid. The guy who bought them wanted them for collision repair and was happy as hell to get them. He said stock headlight assemblies were much too expensive when he was paying out of pocket. Another installment on life tuition for me.

The cutoff is sharp and I don't mind that, it's the "Z" dead center that bothered me. My headlights in my BMW 540 and my X5 have sharp cut off's but they do not have the jog right in the middle. Granted my 540 is a 2001 and my X5 is a 2012 both with HID lights. It's very cool how BMW did it way back in early 2000 but that is a different discussion.
