I pushed the moderately loaded van uphill on the freeway and heard some pinging. It’s been more heavily loaded and pushed harder in warmer weather without pinging. Bad gas? Lazy knock sensor? Shouldn’t a modern knock sensor respond more quickly to where I shouldn’t hear pinging?

The computer has complete control over ignition(there isn't any kind of distributor) and it should not ping, so that means there should be codes if something isn't working right so start there.
