More Steering Coupling Confusion

Will someone please tell me the CORRECT steering coupling ( rag joint ) to install ??? I called Dorman many, many moons ago ( 2021 or 2020 ) and tech told me Dorman did not make a steering coupler for a 1971 F-100 truck !!!
I have a new Dorman I think RockAuto sold me that was listed as correct part, and it has treads all around the coupling ring part that slides onto the steering box shaft, and the posts are smaller, & one post is smaller than the other !!!
The photo is a Scott Drake listed for a Mustang or a F-100 or both I must look again at the part listing, and you can see it only has partial threads. The one I took off my truck only has partial threads and big solid, same size posts that fit into the slots in the steel steering flange of the steering shaft. A previous thread in 2016 that Jafffafa commented to mentions that 70 & 71 had different rag joints.
Also on my steering box shaft there is a groove about 1/8 running vertically perpendicular to the threads. I assume the non-threaded part of the correct coupler covers this groove.
To be clear I want a coupler with the 2 larger posts that my old coupler has. Also I may need threads only partially around the coupling ring that slides onto the steering box shaft..............
Most couplers I see people use, the posts are smaller, & one is smaller than the other. I hope we will finally find a genuine satisfactory answer............Thank-you all........

P.S. I may not b 100 percent correct on all info here but very close. It has been very confusing for me trying to find correct part !!!

What I did on my old 1971 F100 was buy the Dorman part and rebuild my factory unit. I disassembled the original since everything was screwed in. the other options is this one on Amazon;

@fe390pc, thank-you for the reply. I will seriously consider your information. At the moment I am considering a Lars 202, or maybe a Scott Drake C7OZ--A525-A. Some listings says the Drake works with a 1971 & other sites no. It has become very confusing. It does appear 1971 coupler is hard to find CORRECT replacement !!! Than-you again @fe390pc ~~~

Trouble removing the Rag Joint on 69 F250

I've followed all of the recommended steps, loosened steering column inside the cab and then removed the main bolt with 12 point socket and took off 2 nuts on rag joint. I've pulled pretty hard on steering wheel but it isn't creating enough of a gap to remove the coupler.. I'm attaching a photo, do I need to push that bolt ( circled in Red) back thru shaft for it to come out further?

The easiest way for me was to pull the whole column into the cab enough to get it out. That pinch collar on the shaft is to keep tension on the lower shaft bearing and will not go any further. Take all the bolts holding the column in and will pull up.

It would help a LOT if they gave the dimensions of the replacement ones. After doing a lot of research, I ordered one (don't remember the numbers off hand), and the holes were too close together. I have a '72 F-250 Camper Special.

I don't know why I would have said 70 and 71 are different. They aren't. But 67 and 68 are different.

Ford service manual says there should b .073" on each side of the post when installing a steering coupler to the steering flange..............

I would take the part number provided above and contact Green Sales Co. in Ohio. 800-543-4959. Specialists in obsolete Ford parts. I also experienced many wrong parts in the search for the coupler on my '67 F350. These Folks had a dozen in stock.
Good Luck!
