Lower Steering Shaft

Need advice on where to purchase or to have mine refurbished. 97 4WD Lower Steering Shaft,
Ford part number "f7tz-3b676-aa", it has the rag joint at one end and a u-joint at the other end. Ford no longer makes these and I'm hesitant about the after market makers. Any advice or guidance for me? Who is a reputable supplier?
My beloved Long Tall Sally needs to stay road worthy! TIA

well, since it is N.L.A. From ford, you are stuck with aftermarket, or junkyard parts.

One of the best things I have done to my truck was replaced my 240k mile steering shaft with a borgeson 0000981 steering shaft.

its way overpriced for what you get, but man it tightens up the steering.

That with a redhead steering box made a night and day difference in my loose steering. Redhead box was first and that was a good improvement. Then i put the borgeson shaft in few months later and it was the icing on the cake. Highly recommend

The Borgeson is a one for one replacement?? I spoke with them yesterday. They have one in stock.

Thank you for the advice Carolyns97! Any other words of wisdom?
