The factory intake on a 428 CJ is the king of heavy weights.
Why Ford didn't make that CJ intake aluminum I'll never figure out.
Unless it was to keep the front wheels on the ground.

I like your pickup's stance in the photo on post #288. Sweet
Hey, your valve covers look like mine:
Super cool FE valve covers right !
FE head flow comparisons. kind of interesting
now my Merc cover (driver's side) is Krylon "royal blue" and much cleaner than flat black.
Above photo: new Royal Blue krylon valve cover paint for Mercury.
My Merc has the motorcraft 2100 with 1.21 venturi casting.
Above photo: shows the 1.21 cc cast in the circle on the motorcraft 2-bbl.
I'm slowly uncovering the mysteries my engine holds for me. It is a C6ME- block and C4AE-G heads. _ _ a mutt.
I understand the FE Police Interceptor engines had a factory aluminum intake manifold.
Very exciting to see you have garnered a 410.heavy-hitter.

I'm sorry to hear that you have cancer.
But I'm pleased to hear that you are getting treatment.
When you get a few hours free, read up about CoQ10 ( a.k.a CoenzymeQ10 ), and if you like what you read, ask your Doctor what he thinks about 200mg CoQ10 supplements per day for you.
(I.E. make sure it doesn't clash with any medication you are taking/have taken.)
And WTF has CoQ10 got to do with trucks ? LOL
Well, anyone over the age of +/- 45 who takes CoQ10, because it diminishes with age, is similar to giving our beloved engines a good service.

I love that Mercury blue. Thank you.
My truck currently has a 390 2V out of a 1966 Mercury.
Pretty funny that its being replace with another 1966 Mercury engine.
I feel really fortunate to have come across this 410.
He had it listed on Craigs List for about 5 weeks and he had several calls
but all anyone wanted was the crankshaft, I wanted the whole thing.

I was playing catch up with your thread, and enjoyed every post and picture, except the bit quoted above.

I will look in to it.
We are kicking cancer's *** right back to hell where it came from.
I am literally cancer free today.
They have taught my immune system to kill the cancer.
Its amazing the progress they are making with new treatments.

We took the engine over to my friends shop where we'll do the swap
This is like the doctor letting you carry your new heart into the operating room.
This is who I bought the truck from and where we'll swap engines.
Too bad that back in 1972 when the heads were rebuilt hardened valves and seats didn't exist.
Checked inside the cylinders with a bore scope and this is what we found in #2.
And I was very happy that I did not find flat top pistons.

Will you need to run a lead additive then to keep the valves happy? Good looking bug in #2. My dad's friend helped swapped the 390 mercury engine into my truck back in 1991. He warned me to plug all openings to the engine while i have it sitting out of the truck. He had a mouse get into one once and make a mess.
