Thanks, most of the time it does make for a better hat rack.

Here's a couple pictures f the 410, needless to say the red has to go.
And so do the Thunderbird valve covers.
I'll find some correct Mercury valve covers.

What about the front sump oil pan? You going to have enough front axle pumpkin clearance?

I'll use the pan and pickup off my 390.
I'm looking for a flywheel too.
It was rebuilt 50 years ago and never started.
I'll open it up to make sure everything inside is in order.
I'll be heading to CO on the 14th to pick it up.

I ordered a new 428 flywheel, a new Luk clutch and I have a Motorcraft 4300 4-bbl carburetor from an early 460 for it.

Rubi--I'd keep those thunderbird valve covers. They are cool. The red--not so much. I hope they pickled the engine well 50 years ago.

They will probably end up on eBay.

I like the idea of the truck being powered by Mercury.

I can't fault you there for wanting the mercury VC. I really like mine on the mercury 390 my Dad installed in 1991.

They used those Thunderbird valve covers in most Fords with 410s as I recall, station wagons too. I'd keep them.
