Hey guys, just saying hi. I finally decide to get Frankie (my Bronco) back in running order. Got her started last week after a total injector bleed. Had to replace the clutch slave cylinder as it got moisture in it and rusted inside. Now on to the brakes and wiring. Those are the reasons I parked her 4 years ago. I think it is time for a total brake system rebuild, master cylinder all the way to each wheel. I will replace it all with parts for the F250/350 type system including the proportioning valve that the Broncos didn't have. The wiring will be the hard part for me lol. I guess I could get the gasser harness and just do all the needed diesel wiring my self. I don't use a glow plug controller so that helps. I would have to find a after market 1980-86 harness with the 3g alt conversion though so I wouldn't be cutting and splicing wires again. Then maybe start on the body work. I really miss the old girl, the sound of the 6.9, the smell of the diesel and the brute power she had. Closest I get now is my old 59 Massy with the Perkins 3 cylinder. Well I will check back in when I can, wish some of you lived closer lol.
Ya she is. I will have her to the day I die. I just wish work was a little more steady so I could afford to make her pretty again lol. Or I could raise my prices, hard to make money at $30hr, but most people around here have a hard time affording that.
If you were working for someone and they were paying you $30.00 an hour, they'd have to charge the customer 90.00. Your rate is good enough to work yourself to death and have nothing. If it's all cash under the table, you're still not making anything to speak of.
that is true, but the locals are truly on the poor side these parts. I feel bad when some just can't afford even my low rates lol. I still do several jobs a year for the Verdin company in Cinci where I used to work.
i remember that meet and that day. we all had a great time. The first meet i created way back in 2006, we met at a Damon's in lexington. We had a blast that night.
John did you make that meet up with another group... I want to say it was Crestview Town Center. Another truck group offered invite, I remember meeting with those guys, some nice trucks that day. and then you and I met a couple FTE people at the Waffle house In Carrolton I recall.
