I got the dreaded news today that my heads from my 6.0 have a crack in each head. I was having a coolant leak when the engine was under load and now we know why! I currently have 235K miles and it has served me very well. I’ve already replaced the HPOP as well as injectors. We’ve ordered the ARP head studs as well as new gaskets but need recommendations on new heads…. Any advice?? thanks in advance
This is kind of like which oil should I use type of question. Now with that, the top choices seem to be either KDD or UCF heads. I have KDD iron heads on my truck for the last almost 30k miles and have been happy with them
For me to get new KDD aluminum heads took forever.
They are now here and the weather has gone to pot. So not I am stuck building an engine out in the cold wet.
UCF o-ringed have been good to me. Great customer service. I can’t say I’ve seen great things about being able to contact KDD. I was trying to get heads or a full short block from them a couple of years ago and gave up.
