Another IPR

In a recent post I mentioned my truck had quit running while on highway
I have it back up and running and all is well, but I have an issue that is causing some concern
I replaced the IPR valve and cured my issue
My concern ,this is third IPR valve in four years and roughly 20,000 miles

The bad ones had holes in screen with small particles in valve
The one I removed today actually had part of the screen stuck in the valve
Do I have another issue and what could it be,where Is the stuff coming from
I only use OE filters.and running Motorcraft oil and the IPRs have all been original equipment
I change oil around 5000 miles
Any suggestions

Have you ever replaced the oil cooler?
If so, what brand (and where was it purchased)?

Trusting Amazon to supply actual OEM parts is a stretch unless the seller is KNOWN to be reputable.

I always go with dealerships or other reputable sources when goin down under. When buying on amazon i make sure its in oem packaging and coming from a ford dealership, and only perifial parts I can get to easy and not in a hurry to replace. I have been lucky so far, but it is definetly getting worse with chinese junk. If its not in oem packaging, etc. I would send it back.

Unfortunately, Amazon has been proven as of late to have OEM packaging that is NOT OEM. A trusted source for OEM is either O'Reillys or the dealer. Kinda sucks, but we found on the 7.3 side by comparing some "oem" parts from Amazon that came in Ford oem packaging.

okay,my bad.everything was in what appeared to be Original motorcraft packaging .
at the time my dealer ddint have it is stock so i went with amazon and had it in two days.

:follow up:

I Tend to use the advice given here,I think Im going to tear it down repalce the screen and just go ahead and do oil cooler while im there
my deltas havent been where their supposed to be for a while now so Im just going to fix it right.
Now next question,Ford oil cooler and
screen ( will order at local dealer )or is there a better alternative out there.

Not necessarily a bad. IAH, if it appeared to be original motorcraft packaging I would have went with it. BBslider001 enforced my parinoid thoughts and will have to take a closer look next time.

Not sure what Ford sells but River City Diesel sent me a Navistar Maxxforce oil cooler in 2010. 47K+ and delta still looks good.

Having worked for a supplier to Ford with parts in Motorcraft packaging, the common person can't tell. We were given instructions to add little characteristics to the parts so when they come in for warranty the inspector could tell. And it would change on a routine basis. You can't go by anything posted about holes in bags, certain lettering, and like details. Ford will change all that on a routine basis.

If you're buying OEM and have time most guys here will get it from online dealers. You get the OEM support for 30-50% less than what your local dealer will charge.

I've always used Autonation White Bear Lake in Minnesota (formerly Tousley) with great luck. Had a few warranty items and no issues getting things resolved.
