The question that I can’t find an answer for it what will be the payload on and F350 CC LB is you select the 10000 GVWR package? My dealer said it’s too late to change it even though I do not have a VIN.
I did the 10k GVWR on my 2022. Payload for my F350, SC, LB, 6.7L, Lariat trim is 2235. Other options on my truck are 4x4, stowable ramps, elocker, carpet delete, supplemental heat, and upfitter switches.
You derate to get around govt regs/taxes not to limit how much payload you carry...The truck can still carry the non-derated payload, unless you just like limiting yourself.
I high jacked the guys thread lol. I have a F350 with the 7.3 CCLB on order. Worried I made a huge mistake having the dealer check the box for the 10000 gvwr box. 2k payload is nothing
You probably lost about 1k in payload rating (the decal) by checking that box.
I am the OP- just to be clear- the 10K GVWR option only changes the sticker on the door jamb...the truck is physically the same with or without the option selected.

Your crew cab short bed would be identical besides the sticker.

Exactly why I did it. Annual registration here in VA went up $90 per year on my 2017 back in mid-2019. In addition, passenger vehicles get a reduction on personal property taxes that varies each year, but is usually around 30%. Vehicles with a GWR over 10k have to register with truck plates, and don't qualify for the reduction. Derating the '22 with save me hundreds of dollars every year, but, like you said, is still physically capable of carrying as much as a non-derated truck.
Brian, with the moniker, "4WD low", it sounds like you are leaning to a more hardcore offroad position. You might consider a decision between a street worthy F-350 and a Tremor package.
Many of the things you will want are standard, like more clearance in the approach, break over, and departure angles; different springing.
One other thing to consider is a Lance 850 will not fit on a 6.75 foot short bed Ford. Parts of the plumbing drain hang down and in the way before you could lower the box into the bed.
There are better choices.
