True, these threads get confusing sometimes before coffee kicks in when gas truck builds and diesel truck builds get intertwined without it stated in the 1st post instead of the 24th.

Having an F350 on order in MD also, I'm just curious if the math works out.

MD registration fee for a Class E truck UP TO 10,000 GVWR would be $107 per year. ($214 listed is for 2 years, but registered yearly) Then it is another $9 per 1,000 lb GVW above 10,000. So even with a 12,400 F350, it would cost you an extra $27 per year in registration fees.

Is that your understanding also?

My big thing on my last F350 was insurance. They treated my truck as a commercial vehicle. So because of that, my current insurance provider wouldn't cover me because my GVWR was too high. So the F350 I ordered last week has the 10000 GWVR sticker. So it was more expensive for me on insurance and registration.

I see... thanks. Guess I better call my insurance company also. I definitely don't want to de-rate my payload capacity. For me it just is what it is. Thanks for the added info.

Yes- that looks accurate to me. I don't give MD anymore money than I have to- they get MORE than their fair share.

My insurance company does not ding me on the 350 versus the 250.

Thanks! That's good to know also. Many times I wonder why I still live in MD.

Even thought the math works the same, its actually calculated at $9 per 1k plus $17 EMS. So the OP's 11.5k truck would be $9 x 12 + $17 = $125. $18 more a year. Trivial in my mind for having a higher rated truck. (Your $27 is correct for 12.4k.)

The question that I can’t find an answer for it what will be the payload on and F350 CC LB is you select the 10000 GVWR package? My dealer said it’s too late to change it even though I do not have a VIN.

Its the weight of the truck minus the gvwr. So if you can compare to a similar truck you could back into the number you are looking for.

What engine, trim and options? Being that the LB is heavier it would have less payload than the SB, GVWR being equal. Depending on trim level and options the CCSB F-350 with 10k GVWR option would have around a 2k lb payload capacity.

I high jacked the guys thread lol. I have a F350 with the 7.3 CCLB on order. Worried I made a huge mistake having the dealer check the box for the 10000 gvwr box. 2k payload is nothing

Haha, took me a few to figure out that you weren't the OP. Having the 7.3l I would expect closer to 2700lb payload.
