cooling system plumbing.
I had no issue mounting the radiator. Now I realize plumbing it isnt as simple as just connecting a radiator hose from the thermostat housing to inlet of the radiator and from the water pump to the outlet of the radiator like it is for my tool truck that has the radiator fill neck/tank as part of the radiator.
Some how all I have from what was disassembled when discarding the donor 2002 E550(7.3) cab in favor of the now mounted on that 02 chassis, 1955 C600 Snub nose cab is the Round shaped expansion tank and the radiator. I thought I had retained the E550 A/C ,heater box stuff and radiator hoses but cant find any of that. I had to move from the building where this truck's transformation started and may have inadvertently tossed that good stuff in the clean up from the move two years ago.
I seem to remember an elaborate very long radiator hose (also not present now) If I recall correctly that radiator hose had a "T" tentacle off of it that I now believe went to the expansion tank and/or to a nipple somewhere on the radiator. I need to lift the hood of an example truck to see how the stuff is supposed to be connected....a buddy removed the engine for me while I was away on vacation so I wasn't privy to how all that was set up....I found the hoses, radiator etc in a pile and the engine sitting on the floor when I got home when this was done 3 years ago...
Anyone care to help me design CLEAN custom plumbing for what will be the cooling system?
Here is a picture I heisted from another current thread. That small hose on the upper right of the degas bottle curves back and attached to a nipple on the radiator. Another hose comes off the bottom of the degas bottle and connects to the bottom of the radiator, next to the water pump feed hose. It is bigger, like 1 1/4" or so. The upper radiator hose can be seen on the top right of that radiator and it goes directly to the water pump. There are no 'T' fittings involved.
