I had to replace the 351w in my newly bought used E350. I bought a long block and paid the core charge to keep the original engine. I am rounding up part to make the old motor run on a stand. In reading about the EEC ( that is the proper term for the computer?) I saw some on ebay for a 96 351w that were normal aspirated. Did not think that would be some thing FORD would do. So wanting to get one that would match my Van I pulled it to check for numbers. I think it has been replaced. ''070728530711437 REMFG'' on it sticker.
Can someone tell me what the proper ECM for my 1993 ford E350 window van with a 351W EFI motor would be?
Look for a calibration decal on the drivers door pillar.
A '96 pcm could be OBD2 so probably not a good choice for your truck.... which is OBD1.
What powertrain combo does your van have? What trans and axle ratio?
Not that you'd buy one from here but if you scroll towards the bottom of the page you'll see the part numbers for the 5.8L engine and the ones for the 4.9L are towards the top of the page.
I recently purchased a PCM from this site... Flagship One Inc | Pre-Programmed Engine Control Modules | PCM | ECM | ECU (fs1inc.com)
The menus guide you through based on the year and model of your vehicle so you should be able to get something that will work that way. The E4OD first appeared in 1989 but the 5.8 was first equipped with EFI in '87 or '88 and all the transmissions used at that point were strictly mechanical.. no computer control, so that PCM would be the perfect candidate for an engine stand. There were no significant changes to the 5.8EFI until '94 and the C6 and manual transmissions were available until the end of production in '97, but without knowing the exact PCM code for one of these combos it will be difficult to find one of those.
