My son and I were cruising the "Swaparama" in Tulare Ca today, and I ran across this at the very first booth I stopped at. A nearly new condition stainless header for the 240 300.
I brought it home. I just have to decide if I'm gonna use it, or sell it on to someone else. I already have a pair of new EFI dual exhaust manifolds for my project, and it ain't gonna be no racer, so I'm inclined to stick with those.
I'm assuming they are Hedman. I don't see a SS hedman offered. These are definitely not ceramic coated.
Honestly, I want em. Can't afford em, so I won't waste your time. Waiting for a quote back from the shop in Reno where my pickup is with a bad transmission.
Pretty much anymore. Anything exhaust related, unless it's "U-Fab" materials, just won't be shipped here these days. I can't buy a different exhaust for either one of my motorcycles, a 2006 HD Softail Deluxe, and a '14 Triumph Bonneville. Not that I want to, although the Harley is just a little loud my taste. The Triumph is just fine.
As for the truck, I will custom fab an "Out the back" system from bends and straight tube.
I have three options....
A) Two pipes into two mufflers or a "two-in, two-out" muffler
B) Two pipes into a "two-in, one-out" muffler
C) Two into one collector, and a single "one-in, one out" muffler
I want a nice tone, not loud, but enough to know it's there. I don't want it to sound like an old school bus, tractor or UPS truck
I like the look of "Twice Pipes" too. I like the sound of a 6 with split manifolds, I just don't want it to be too loud. I wanna be able to hear my radio!
I'm gonna stick with the EFI exhaust manifolds I already have. They are de-burred, and fitted to the head already. I really don't want the potential maintenance of headers, even tho this is a really purty set!

That HD E bike is pretty dang cool. But not 30K cool!
I'd just like to find a muffler that is a bit quieter than the glass-pack that's on there now. I don't wanna spend $800 on another exhaust system either. I have a stock take-off system from an earlier model that has the cross over pipe, But I don't like the way that looks. And since it's really hard to find someone who will ship one of those $800 exhaust systems into California, I may have to fab something up.
