For anyone interested Riffraff diesel has the OEM/Ford fuel tank pickup. I know this has been hard to find lately and the aftermarket ones seem to be of poor quality. $65 doesn’t seem too bad.
What's the deal with these? Do they melt down over time? B.
Falls into pieces. From what I have read here you get a clue when you start running out of fuel at around 1/4 tank. Lines can also clog with the pieces. I think we are starting to see the end of their useful life with the age of our vehicles. I just hope that the new materials are as good as the originals-probably not though sadly.
Well, I just changed my fuel filters about a month ago and did not find any pieces. So I guess mine is still holding up of the pieces are not yet small enough to make it through the screen. B.
Here is a recent thread. I had a bit of a surprise a couple weeks ago. Took the truck down to a field to fix a hydraulic hose on my tractor. I parked nose up on a pretty steep incline. When I left my tank was reading full and I know I had about half. It did work itself out, but I probably will be addressing the tank soon.
Does the 6.0 crowd not do the Hutch mod to the pickup?
Finally did my 7.3 last week, after 15 years of ownership, I'm a Pro-Procrastinator!
My pickup still looked great. Not sure if I got a good one or maybe climate or something else helped preserve it.
