Fuel injector......

Hey Yall I hope everyone is having a good week so far. So I have a 93' 7.3L idi non turbo. I was getting air in fuel lines. I changed to clear fuel line and got a rebuild kit with new o-rings caps clamps and fuel line after installing truck fired up and ran great, until ilet off the gas to shift it would die. I popped the hood and found the front pass. side injector was leaking almost pouring out so i replaced the o-rings again but same thing it almost pours out. My question is this.....would a bad injector cause this??? Thanks for any and all help

That's the #1 injector. Does it have a timing adapter on it that's leaking? Post #5 in this thread shows the OE timing adapter that could be leaking.

Make sure the injector caps positively "click" onto the injectors. Sometimes it's difficult to get them properly seated.

Well that is a bug help because I removed the timing adapter not knowing it wa a timing adapter lol but it still leaked even without the adapter. It really comes outta there to. I’ll recheck the seating of the cap tomorrow but I’m pretty sure it clicked it but this is my first diesel truck so I’m learning a lot. Thanks for the help any more advise is appreciated

You need to have the timing adapter on the #1 injector line or it will be too short. Make sure you reinstall it. If you think it's ugly you can find a set of injector lines off of an older 6.9l IDI. They didn't start using the timing adapter until later IDIs.
