Oh, duh. Fluid for it. The thing specs ATF...so run what you want. I run Redline D4. One extra quart helps with cooling and gear rollover noise with the SMF conversion.

Many guys also run 160/0 injectors too. I am okay with my weenie 90s on a dialed in setup with all fresh items. Low EGTs in tow mode, around 1350F in hot street which is all the fuel I figure but more down low and more timing.

Look at Midwest's short shifter too. It makes a nice difference.

Great info, thanks! I did switch out the fluid in the trans and t case to Amsoil Signature Series ATF and it did seem to help with a notchy 3rd when cold. I didn't know about the extra quarts, will pull shifter boot and dump so more in.

Will examine up-pipes. Plenum was redone recently when I had a shop redo the rear fuel lines with new. Could be leaking.

However, the state this old dear was in when I got it, leads me to believe there is wear on the compressor. Will check it out.

Anyone have any input on a Wicked Wheel 2 (WW2)? Not expensive, but is it snake oil.

In regards to intercooler piping, can't be harder than making IC piping for my Cobra. Space was super tight I that thing.

The stock TP38 compressor wheel in these is comparable to the old cast WW2. Modern are billet, usually better blade pitch (think aerodynamics), and less weight. No real downside, especially if yours is worn.

ZF is a Kraut box. They are all notchy even my old Getrags. Just how they are built. The short shifter is nice in my ZF. Initial drop into gear takes more effort (wait for gearset to slow when initial clutch in helps a bunch) and 2-3 upshift when cold is notchy still but eh, worth the large reduction in throw for sure.

Think I will start with up pipes. Who has good ones? The Riff Raff ones look pretty good.

Any thoughts on EBPV delete? The pedestal is not leaking oil now, but I suppose it will. Would rather put pedestal $ towards something else now. If it isn't broke...

Riffraff pipes are the best for the $ as for ebv delete that’s your call. Lots of people just wire them open and call it good

My uppipes are RR. Pretty much best around it seems. No issues, I also had my ceramic coated to help w relights as keeps in the heat.

Delete pedestal and such I got from RR or maybe River City Diesel. Cannot recall. I used to buy their bits back in my 6.4 days. Rudy's too

Unsure if turbocharger removal required for uppipes. I think NO, but it makes job easier.
