boost gauge

is it a good reading from teeing into the map sensor hose or what is the advantage of drilling and taping the babies butt . what is a average boost for a early 99 stock set up ? thanks wes

Either the tee or drill/tapping the cold side of the intake will get you the same boost readings. Your boost readings will depend on other mods you have done, mainly tuning.

thanks chris, i have had this truck since 99 and have kept it stock as a dailly driver it has 257000 mi now! every thing else i have is highly modified and the stuff is always breaking something or another . but now withreading here i want to do a few things and thought i would start with agood base line of what stock is . and was wondering why some people drill and tap when they dont need to much easier to cut hose and tee . and i want to see if my turbo is up to snuff still , do you or anyone else know about what boost the stock tune and set up is ? my truck is a early 99 6/98 w a 6speed trans 4x4 and at this point all that has been done is converter removed and the ford delete pipe in its place .
thanks wes
