Boost Gauge Maxed out
I've got a 2008, 6.4 Powerstroke. Yesterday my engine light came on. I noticed that the tranny was shifting just slightly harder. I also noticed my boost gauge was maxed out all the way to the right. My H&S showed 58 PSI for boost. P0234 was the DTC (Turbo overboost condition). The truck runs good except for the slightly harder shifts and blowing a little more black out of the exhaust from a stop. It's like the truck thinks it's under load (since it thinks it's got high boost) and is pouring the fuel and shifting a little harder.
I was thinking it was just a boost sensor but was told that there really isn't a boost sensor. The computer takes info from other parts of the motor which dictates the boost???
Anyone else experience this?

Thank you! Good tip. I just replaced the MAP sensor in December. I removed it and made sure that it was clean last night. I will replace the EBP sensor. I hear the EBP sensor tube can plug also. I will make sure it all is clean see how it turns out. Thanks again.
