My wife has one on her F150 and I just added it when I placed the order for my 2022 F250 XLT - I guess we are both "unhip." Maybe that's why we've been married 34 years! My experience has been the Ford OEM deflectors seem to work best. I had an aftermarket on my 2012 F250, when I hit the washer fluid it sprayed everywhere but the windshield. It appeared to upset the airflow over the hood. Changed it to Ford OEM, problem went away.
Mine came in today.. late. But was missing all the installation hardware. Ford is re ordering one to take hardware kit out for me .
so still. Not fully un-hipster. Yet
If anyone can enlighten me please.....on the Ford Accessories site for the 2022 F250 there is a black hood deflector with "SUPERDUTY" on it- is this one attached with mechanical fasteners or adhesive tape?
Can anyone advise if the SuperDuty letter inserts designed for the hood will fit into the OEM deflector lettering? Looking at the TuffSkinz letter inserts and am just curious if the letter sizes are the same.

One of them is black and has the indented "super duty" letter and uses mechanical fasteners. It stands OFF the hood. Fairway Ford does a much better job of showing pics than does Ford HQ. Ive bought two and really like them. Its this one:

See post 19 above for tufskinz letters in the oem deflector.
I’ve had OEM Ford bug deflectors on the last 3 superdutys. Saves from getting chips on the front edge of the hood
i had Clear Bra “PPF” applied to my 2015 Lexus when it was new. After about 43 years it started to develop mold under the film in the adhesive. Shop recently quoted $500 to remove it. Fortunately being garaged it wasn’t too brittle and my wife and I were able to remove it without damaging the paint but it took us over 4 hours.
My friend had PPF on the front of his motor home. It also got moldy underneath. It cost him $800 to get it removed.
The shop recommended the film be removed and replaced every 3 years to prevent it from damaging the paint
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ What he said ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ , except for I'm a 64 yo !!
Out of curiosity, and pissed-offedness of my truck getting chipped up,where are you getting these chrome bug shields?I was on the fence until I saw it on the red one like mine.

I question the skills and/or integrity of the shop. Replacing the film every 3 years is inconsistent with the film manufacturer's warranty (Xpel and 3M) of 7 or 8 years.
Mold under the film is likely an installation issue. It is important to have the film installed by a professional, certified installer.
If we're not careful this thread will put the 'hip' back into bug deflectors.
Looking at vehicle style over the last few years, I think hip is safe..although some of those Tremors doooo look good with adding more black to the deal.
Style and personal taste is always subjective.
Im a fan of “less is more”.
I considered getting a hood deflector, but the look didn't impress me so I also considered the Dealer Add-On PPF for $599 but then I saw this: PPF Kit for 2017 and up Ford HD trucks
$160 plus an hour of my time to save $440 and not have a minimum-wage dealer lackey install the same kit is a big plus to me.
