CC V filter

Does anyone know much about these?
how often need changing?
what happens if they are plugged?

I never changed it on mine in 49k miles before I sold it.

Which engine? I don't believe any of the factory units require maintenance. It's usually just some kind of separator that removes most of the oil from the vapor.

The aftermarket ones do require you to drain them periodically so they don't fill up.

Had mine replaced at the dealer to clear a code (P043E) There is a service bulletin on it so it was free. They had to re flash computer and two weeks later, had to re flash computer again. All free of charge with 66000 miles

Like Larry said, go to the 6.7 Powerstroke section and do a search for CCV maintenance. My 16 has a sealed unit but I run a Mishimoto oil catch can now so it doesn't go through the CCV box anymore. The adapters mount under the CCV box. But the CCV boxes that had the screws all the way around the box had replaceable filters in them that if they weren't replaced soon enough, those serviceable boxes had a silicone bypass cover in them that if the pressure got too great, it would pop and that crap would run right into the intake. I like running my catch can to keep that stuff out of the intake and engine. It's crazy to me that those sealed units would have to be replaced but what do i know, I'm no engineer.
