Coalescer filter element

I came across instructions for changing the coalescer filter element in the owners manual. What exactly does this filter do and where is it located?

Try searching this forum; it was discussed here a while back. If memory serves, it's to filter oil vapors out of the pcv stream. It has a 75,000 mile change interval.
