Software to determine Bad Injectors
Will the Torque Pro App tell you what injectors are bad? Should I get Autoenginuity? Is there any software out there that does injector contribution test other that the Ford Software?
What about the method in this video where you disconnect all the injectors and the turn the key on with one plugged in at a time?
Sorry, I am a bit out of touch with the latest on the 6.0...Mine has been running great for years and I haven't been on this forum in a while.
Thanks,
Hank
Forscan would be even better than Torque Pro. Probably even better than AE. But none of them truly do an uncompensated balance test, which is what is needed. There are some high end scan tools that will do it, but I couldn't tell you which ones. One other option is a VCM clone of one sort or another. Some work well and others not so.much. I have used a Ford SVCI j2534 device with success. But sometimes it take a little work. The last option would be to goto the dealer and have them run a diagnostic test.
That said I am no longer selling them and my agent that I was working with has moved on. I
am not going to be looking for a new agent.
All that said you should avoid the Autoenginuity. It has an issue with the uncompensated tests.
It will tell you all is good even with an almost dead injector.
As @Motohead911 said above Forscan is a good low cost option. You want the laptop version
as it will do more tests and have options that the smart phone and tablet versions don't have.
I believe the reason it they feel that with the phone you would be driving and the laptop software
you would be in a shop of garage doing the work.
