Had #1 injector replaced after being towed about 80 miles outsided of town in August. That was $750 total, $345 injector from Ford. The invoice stated there was 2 more intermitent injector codes. I don't have the codes in front of me but they were 5 and 6 i think on opposite sides of the motor.
The video in the tech folder sounds alot like mine right now when cold. Seems to run good when warmed up.
Anyone use rebuilt injectors off E-bay or any where else? Can they be mixed with the others or have to replace all with rebuilt ones? If 3 injectors have gone ( or going) will the other 5 be right behind? I know there is no real way to tell, but is it worth doing all while I 'm in there or just what is bad now.
It is an 03 with different injectors from what I have read on here.
FWIW--ALL injectors are remans as Siemens isn't making them anymore from what I understand. Just make sure you buy them from a reputable dealer on Ebay. You can get a complete set of A/M remans from full force diesel for less than 2K.
Yes they can be mixed, despite what a lot of Ford guys will tell you. The major difference was in the coating of the intensifier piston/plunger. If the barrels are marked C95 when you get them you are good to go.

So it IS OK to run C94 and C95's? I know the 95 is an upgrade from the 94 but like you said I have read it is NOT ok to mix the 2. If you say it can be done, I'd take your word over what I thought I read.

I would NOT run the C94's under any circumstances. Those were the ORIGINAL 03's that were very troublesome because of an internal problem. If my post was taken that way it was NOT meant to be.
The barrels are laser etched with a C95 on the later injectors. I know that Ford has a different part # for the 03 trucks, but the later injectors can be run with out issues. I know tooooooo many folks doing it with no problems.

Good to know. I have been one to caution against it due to Ford's position that it could cause rough and erratic operation. As I said, it is always good to hear experienced based answers. Ford's position will almost always be conservative for a variety of reasons.
What I meant was if I have an injector go out, it IS OK to replace it with a C95, even if the ones still in the heads are C94s? I don't even know if they are 94's in the truck as I haven't had one out yet, knock on wood. Engine build date 9/03. When did they switch to the better ones?
I'm pretty sure that they started replacing the C94's in early 03 so you shouldn't have an issue. I think they used up all the C94's replacing them in my 03 the first month we had it. My first ICP went out with less than 500 miles. A month and 10 injectors and an ICP sensor (or 2) later we got the truck back.
3C3Z-9E527-AA (Original C91 injector) was replaced in 2003 with part number 3C3Z-9E527-ABRM (C94). These part numbers were for engines built before 9/22/03. Part # 3C3Z-9E527-AE for C95. The difference between original C94 & new C95 was internal change to clevis. Had to do with plunger suffering from side loading which then causes raw fuel to flood and enter the engine oil crankcase. Design improvements aimed at preventing scuffing.
Thanks guys, good info. So theres a chance I may have either, with 9/03 build, or maybe I'm lucky and have the 95's depending on when in Sept they switched, or when my engine was built in Sept rather. Can't REP either yet, maybe Santa will change that for Xmas for us.

My bet would be on the C94's. Mark posted the correct info. I knew the EARLY 03's had crappy injectors and they were changed. I know the C95's wil work just fine in ANY motor. Sometimes I think Ford says things just to get rid of OLD stock.
If it were mine, if I had an injector go out on the right bank then I would change the 4 on the right bank. You've already done 90% of the labor on that side. One on each bank and they all get changed.
