Get a holster that allows you to access your firearm even when seated and buckled in. No reason to excessively handle your gun to move it from this holster to that holster when getting in and out of a vehicle. I have a kydex unit, can't remember who makes it, but I can still get to my G19 on my right hip while seated and buckled in all of my vehicles. My 2 cents of course.
If you come to Texas after Sept 1st be aware that anyone that can pass a background check can CONCEAL carry WITHOUT a license or training. Leave your horn at home. Also we currently have LEGAL carry for switchblades and brass knuckles. Swords and like weapons can be OPEN carried here also. There is a lot to consider when out and about.
Depends what your interior you have.
If you have buckets and a center console, clean it out and use that, lots of different mounting and holster options depending on which firearm you are using for carry.
Center console allows quick enough access and isn't openly visible.
Multitude of lower dash mount kits and seat strap on type things but all are openly visible.
There are under seat lock boxes that can be mounted in, ease of access is decent, use one that when unlocked you just push on the front of the tray and the tray pops out between your legs.
I've wondered about those overhead storage shelf it things like LMC sells and having an under seat storage box mounted on it, but doesn't look like there's much room between the shelf and truck roof.
A simple holster mounting kit might be a simple solution on an overhead storage shelf it.
Mount it on the shelf and back enough and at an angle on the left side, pretty good access and may not be easily visible?
I have a single cab bench seat. I fold my armrest down in the middle. You can put it in the space between the seat and the seat back, then I keep the armrest folded up to hide it. It actually holds it very secure.
