Cab Mounts

I'm looking for the bushing set for the cab mounts for my '68. LMC shows them only for the 2wd truck - is there a difference? I called and they had no idea.

No idea? That answer doesn't surprise me.

lmc is strictly a middleman, buying from Charlie and selling to Carl, marking up the prices in the process.

They know about as much about Ford trucks as a mule does about fornicating.

4-C4TZ-8100154-C .. Cab Mount (Absorber) Upper-Front & Rear

4-C4TZ-8100155-C .. Cab Mount (Absorber) Lower-Front & Rear

Fits: 1964 F100/250 2WD / 1965/72 F100/350 2WD and 4WD.

Look on this very page for 5 FTE sponsors that sell parts for your truck.

Each has E-Z to use online catalogs, free paper catalogs available for the asking.

MAR-K / MAC'S ANTIQUE AUTO PARTS / BLUE OVAL TRUCK PARTS / AUTO-KRAFTERS / NATIONAL PARTS DEPOT.

lmc is not an FTE sponsor.

I used the LMC ones and had to cut the center steel bushing about 3/4" or so., So that the bolt would tighten up. Other then that they work ok. but for the price you would think you shouldn't have to do that....Ps there cab replacement mounts our crap. IMO Go with Dennis C. more like the OEM ones and ez'er to install...my 2cents

I used energy suspension urethane mounts for my 67 F100 4x4. The part number listed was for a 73-79 but they fit perfect. Got em at my local parts store.

I'm restoring a 69 and like workingdog I need cab mounts, so the comments are helpful. I made my first ever posting last week - I mentioned that I was looking at an LMC catalogue and partsdummy gave me a smack on the head for saying so. I have since noticed a number of people who post here report problems with LMC sourced parts.

Frankly the fact that LMC doesn't advertise here is a distraction - I don't think if they did support FTE that partsdummy would like them any better because his other point seems to be the issue, the problem is getting a quality part from them.

So how tough is it to actually swap out the bushings? A friend of mine said I would have to disconnect all kinds of stuff including the steering, jack the entire cab up several inches to be able to replace them. Looking at the diagram on Dennis Carpenter, it doesn't look that involved - at least for the rears. I have a bad rear passenger side bushing that is holding that side of the cab up about an 1" giving the entire cab a very weird lean.

The rear mounts are easy. You have to move the tank to gain access, then jack up the cab enough to get them replaced. The front is a little more difficult. If you remove the steering column flange mount (just the bracket) at the firewall and loosen the mount under the dash to allow for movement. I would do one side (front & rear) at a time, then move to the other side. Your wiring should have enough play in them.

Thanks for the info. I think I'm going to do both rears together as I have the bed off right now and that will hopefully fix the left to right lean.
