I am in the process of replacing my injectors, and I found something interesting when I pulled #8. There were at least two small pieces of debris under the injector, in the cup. They are almost like a red plastic-like material. I managed to fish two out, but lost the smaller piece before I could get a picture of it. Here is the larger piece. Bottle cap for reference.
Think this is something to worry about? I got everything all cleaned up and to my eye, the cups looks OK.
But honestly no idea. Some bit of plastic, and if the the lost part went down into the cylinder I'd say roll the engine over by hand a couple times. It will be broken up to harmless bits that will burn off.
#8 hole right? Somebody probably fell for the long lead injector fix, and either a diy'r needs his or her tool set taken away or a tech had a hell of a hangover.
It's certainly possible that it fell into the cup after I removed the injector. I would be surprised if that was the case though, I was being as careful as I could.
It was a LL injector from hole number 8. My truck had at least two previous owners before me, so no idea what all has been done to it. That would be pretty hilarious if it was some kind of plastic cover that got pushed into the cylinder! Lol
I'm going to go with what aawlberninf350 said and hope that whatever it is is long gone. New injectors on the way from riff raff right now.

This idea could be it to. Never even thought about that. Good suggestion. Never know what people before you did.
