The door lock switch on my 2017 F350 Lariat has stopped working but the memory seat buttons still work. The door locks still work from the fob and the door handle sensors so it must be something in the switch. The truck is low mileage and this switch has rarely been used so it is strange that both buttons have stopped working. Is there a fuse that could have blown that controls that switch alone? The dealer recently had this panel off so I would like to check if the wiring harness is plugged in properly. Is it possible to remove this switch without taking off the entire door panel?
I believe you will have to remove the door panel. I've had mine off a few times and it's not difficult. Get you a set of the plastic prybars for interior panel work.
BTW, if the memory buttons still work, I seriously doubt your problem is inside the door. I believe those switches share the same plug connection as the lock/unlock buttons. OTOH, if you suspect dealer-induced damage, it wouldn't hurt to inspect that connection. If the interior panel is not supported while disconnecting the plugs (4 of them on my LF door), there's a strong chance some wires got yanked off/broken.
I was sitting in the truck and started pushing the buttons in frustration when suddenly the lock button worked twice. I couldn't repeat the process again but at least now I know there is a problem with the switch so I have ordered a new one. I have to admit watching that video is a little scary for me. My track record with automotive clips is not very good and removing the panel requires you to pull apart a ton of them. They appear to all be metal so a straight out pull should not put much strain on the plastic posts.
Thanks for the info,
Gary

All the clips are plastic ... every last one of them. If you were able to make momentary contact, that makes me further believe the wiring may have been damaged. I would still remove the panel to inspect prior to ordering any parts. But first, let me back up a bit and ask why did the dealer remove that panel in first place? And second, why not return it to the dealer with your complaint?

You may remember a post I made a couple of months ago about the paint cracking and lifting in perfect circles around the bolts holding the door latches to the door. Even though the truck was out of warranty Ford of Canada and my dealer paid 3/4's of the cost to repaint three of the doors on the edge and inside face so the panels had to be removed. I don't normally use the inside door lock buttons so it wasn't until yesterday that I noticed them not working. There is no way I could prove they did anything after all this time and since they treated me decently fixing the paint I don't want to make a big deal out of this.
