I've been waiting for an article to appear online with this warning, but nothing so far...
The recent run up in used vehicle prices is creating big opportunities for scammers. Anyone with an old truck on blocks behind the garage has that thing polished up with new tires on Craigslist. There's also going to be more profit for car thieves, so look for swapped VIN numbers and other mismatches. Insurance scammers will be looking to get top dollar for old wrecks by pulling in front of you.
Honestly, I can't even recall the scam that occurred to me the other day and made me want to post this warning. But, I'm sure there's others as well that we're going to hear about. There's too much free money to be had right now. If you doing a transaction in this market, be careful.
