Years after having to let me last project go, I'm in the midst of another F150 MAF conversion. I'm pretty set, but for the life of me cannot remember which banks the right hand and left hand HEGO's belong to? Passenger (Bank 1) pin 43 and Driver (Bank 2) 29? Or do I have backwards?
Assume it's OK to ground both to 49 for use with A9L?
I know its a dumb question but for the life of me I cannot find.
Agreed, but my wiring/pinnout diagrams (and all I could find) refence right hand and left hand HEGO's, not driver/passenger or bank 1 or 2. Asking which HEGO pin goes to which bank.
Right hand is the passenger side so that is Bank 1 that goes to Pin 29. The left hand is the driver side, Bank 2, that goes to Pin 43. The A9x series computers used 3 pin O2 sensors that grounded through the exhaust. On these vehicles there is a ground from Pin 49 that is usually attached to the passenger side cylinder area to be the ground path for the O2 sensors. If you are using 4 pin O2 sensors (HEGO) then you can run the grounds to Pin 49 along with a dedicated ground to the engine to be safe.
I'll be reusing or modifying my previous MAF harness, and using Quoterhorse with the last build, I could see both HEGO's working. Assuming there was no issue with either bank, it wouldn't make a difference if they were backwards, but if one bank fell off, (bad valve, bad injector, DROPPED A SEAT like my last build) it would make diagnosing the issue that much harder.
