Color Question
OK guys & gals, I'm new to posting here, but have been reading for quite some. I'm looking at a '95 F150 SC 4X4 5L motor. Now, this isn't the most important issue in the world, but I have NEVER seen this color on a Ford truck. It is primarily PURPLE with a grey lower trim......what is the color called and was it common somewhere in the country? Cuz I sure haven't seen it in the NYS area!
I hope to spend lots of time here in this forum........so far, have found it quite interesting and entertaining!
I think I've seen that color before, but it was through a picture on this site, not in person. Interesting color though, not sure why it looks purple but would be called blue.
It looks purple to me too. My buddy has I think a 93 stepside f150. It is this purple your talking about with grayish silver on the bottem. I guess it was pretty common here in Indiana cause I use to see them all the time. Not much anymore. I think I have seen a few purple f250s aswell. I think they call it Iris metallic
I've seen the color you're talking about. It was actually available on several different Ford models in the mid-'90s.It's actually considered BLUE.The color code is 'JA',and the name of this "blue"(it looks purple,to me, too...) is Bright Sapphire Metallic.
That would be it......along with the YN silver lower two tone.
Well, I cut a deal and dropped a 50% deposit on it!
Now if only my tax return would come I could go pick it up!!!!!!
As I said earlier, it's a 95 F150 XLT SC w/8' bed 5.0L. It has a Ford bedliner, chrome Ford fold away pocket inserts for tie downs, a single CD AM/FM, center console (wish it had the folding center seat), auto locking hubs, dual tanks. Straight body no rust. Engine seems to run smooth and strong. There's 124,000 on the clock.
This is my first Ford 4x4 in many years except for the 91 Explorer that was a money pit near the end of it's life (tranny problems) so I've away for awhile from trucks. Been busy doing the family minivan practical thing! LOL!
Anything you guys think of I should know about this truck and/or look out for? Thanks!
You guys have a great forum here, hope to share much more as time progresses!
Mike
