What stereo do I have?

Hi eveyone,

This is my first post to this group. I have a 98 ranger extended cab with a AM/FM/CD. The radio tuning button has "disks" written on it with forward and reverse arrows. There is also a "comp" button on the other side of the CD slot. Is this a single CD or a 6 CD player. If it is a 6 CD how does it work? Any help will be appreciated.

IF it is the stock radio. you most likely dont have the 6 disc. I dont think that they put them in the ranger. But here is a way to tell.

When you put in a CD do you have to hit a LOAD button first or can you just put the CD in?? and then select the CD slot. IF not you have a single disc.

Thanks umdstang,
It is a Ford unit but not sure if it is the original stereo. Based on your description it is the single CD model.
