I thought they already do that? I know they plug their computer into your PCM and supposedly everything talks directly to Sacramento (state capital).

I am not sure they were checking strategies, I think they were looking at readiness monitors and for DTC.

Notice how the trans and pcm have a .hex after them. The FICM is stock ford tuning.

 

No smog checks in Texas that I'm aware of.

The agreement was 1975 and prior,... exempt
"And" each year the "powers that be" were to roll it,.... following year for instance, it would be 1976 and prior,... like that.

Then, they went back on that. it has been frozen at 1975 now for decades.

Here is what some folk do here,.......
You buy something exempt, 70's muscle car, classic truck, whatever,.....
and you buy a GM "L" motor, some are all aluminum, some have a cast iron block, and aluminum heads.
you stick that in there, add modern seats, dash, steering column, whatever suits your taste,....
and, you'r off to the races,..... and exempt from smog laws.

And, if you don't go crazy, you spend much less.

You may remember,... (no politics),... but a law was passed that not all the far down the line, "No" more gasoline powered vehicles will be sold in Commiefornia.

The goal is to go "all electric", and charge each owner for every mile driven.
