I sent a question to Nichols Manufacturing (maker of aftermarket TPMS accessories and cable solutions for the Ford TPMS/camera system) about the wires and how to get the connector off the cable.
Connector similar for both sides.
On the camera harness side
Small screwdriver, carefully pry two retainers on the ends, push inner piece out
Small needle nose pull the white retainer out of the inside
Small screwdriver or pick, move the retaining pin and push the terminals out.
Note teh orientation of the terminal for proper lock when re-inserted.
And make sure you mark the colors first.
The harness is a shield wire and no coax. And it's only shield up to the connector, so nor reason you couldn't cut it and shorten.
Did you solder the splice or use a butt connector?
I soldered and heat shrunk the connections on the wires. if you look at the pictures above in the thread you can see some of the wires are wrapped in something like tinfoil. That’s what I used the aluminum tape on to try and maintain the continuity of that wrap..
