I don't usually make posts like this but im just pretty disheartened anymore. So I have a 1994 f250 it pretty good shape. Mechanically all original so ofcourse it needed some attention. With only 112k miles on it I know it had a lot of life left in it and kinda wanted to "restore" it. Ran great but all the seals were shot. After about 5 weeks looking, I FIANLLY found a shop that said they could do it, new gaskets, seals and basically anything else that made sense to do at that time as the engine was out. After 2 months I got it back today to find;
1) a beautiful dent in the bend from when it rocked back on their lift (the werent going to mention anything either)
2) runs like its missing, like ****
3) something has a crazy metallic vibration in the engine bay and feel it ALOT in the gas pedal.
Just disappointed and really let down that after almost 10k$ in parts and labor this is the mess I get back. Sigh.sorry for my rambling and ranting but been stirring for hours now any wanted to get something off my chest.
I understand your frustration. Spending that kind of money then find the Easter eggs they left for you is just plain awful. All I can give you is hang in there and give that shop owner hell for the poor quality work they did.
That is BS! Don't let them get away with it. My advice would be to go to a REPUTABLE shop, maybe even your local Ford dealer, and get everything these guys screwed up documented. Head right on over to small claims court and file a lawsuit. At least you may be able to recover enough to have what they screwed up repaired. They may be willing to give you a substantial refund to drop your suit. Also, check to see if your state has a Burea of Automotive Repair. If so you can file a complaint there, or you may want to threaten the bogus shop with that to see if they offer you any compensation.

Thank you all, I took my truck over to a shop that I've dealt with before for a 2nd opinion and currently have another appointment scheduled with them. What ever it needs ill do but the bill i get will go to the previous shop that messed it up. Figured ill start there and if there's no issues and they pay it, cool. If not I'll go to war I suppose. I drove it today and was just sad, but it can all be fixed and I love that truck.
I agree, I already have so many projects I just wasn't in a position to take up another one. My Mustang is still in pieces and I didn't want two giant paper weights in my shop, which I'm still finishing lol. Too many projects lol.
Sorry, for your, issues, it really vacuum's, that shops like this one can stay in business, as long as they do, and then the others that have been around, dont want to work on our trucks, they want the new age and replace parts, that fix them...while they charge 65-85/hr.
