Currently watching two threads with identical symptoms and decided to update. I report that I have no more symptoms and haven't done anything about it. I'm a pretty lazy guy and I do believe that I should pull and inspect my engine harness but I generally don't fix stuff that ain't broke. Maybe in the fall when it cools down a bit.
@Walleye Hunter
Mark, you should change the title now that you’re home so it’s not so vague. That way those that are having the same problems can follow the trouble shooting that was offered in your thread. Sometimes you have to let problems get bad enough that the cause becomes easier to diagnose. Good Luck with it.

That sounds good. @Sous, since you're the OP, if you want, you could adjust the title.
it gave me the fits one time and one time only (up there). Some 420 miles home and not so much as one hiccup. It got rained on up there, passed through several torrential downpours on the way home and nada..
Does this mean it was raining harder on the way back home, then it was raining on the way up, or up there where the hiccup happened?
If you passed through torrential downpours on the problem free way back home, then were your windshield wipers were turned on high, at full tilt, or at least in steady state mode?
If it was only lightly raining on the way up, or when you experienced the hiccup, then were your windshield wipers were on intermittent mode, where the wipers delay a little bit in between each wipe?
When folks experience hiccups with their camshaft position sensors, it is often during the rain, when the windshield wipers are on, but only when the windshield wipers are in intermittent mode.
The extraneous EMF noise of the wiper motor operating intermittent mode is radiated through the common grounding point on the firewall between the PCM and the wiper motor, which results in the engine shutting down from garbled CMP signal.

I pretty much experienced the whole spectrum of conditions on the way home. I hit heavy rains in both directions and used the wipers in all modes. I did change out the CPS with no change in behavior. This one is a real brain teaser.
Mark, I have changed the thread tittle to "Intermittent electrical/stalling issue", but I believe that since the post is over 30 days old it needs the edit to be finalized by an administrator like @Y2KW57 . Editing posts can get a bit screwy after a certain period of time has passed. This is a feature built into the IB system based on my experience as a former moderator.
Y2KW57, please ensure the title of the thread is changed to "Intermittent electrical/stalling issue" and thank you for your help in this matter and others that enable this community to be the best on the internet.
Mark ( @Walleye Hunter ), you came into my thoughts today as I was clearing brush along the property line in the same place as when you called me back in July.
I wanted to see if you have had any more "gremlin" experiences or if the mighty force of the FTE and Adam (Z31Freakify) providing you guidance scared them off.

I hope all has been well.
All is well here and I have had no more symptoms. I keep an eye on this thread though and hope he figures it out.
