Electrical connector questions

Hey all! Love this site and much appreciate everyone's help in advance! I'm working on my 2003 E450 with a 7.3L. I removed my hpop and did a reseal job. Since it's the van style, space is quite limited so I removed the fuel bowl that sits above it in order to have the space to remove the hpop to install the new orings. I watched a few "how-to" vids in preparation for the job. One of the videos said not to worry about marking the electrical connectors because they won't cross fit. Upon finishing the job & installation of my fuel bowl, I could not find the electrical connector for the water in fuel sensor location at the bottom rear of the bowl. (I'm speaking of the connector on the engine wire harness side, not where it plugs in on the bowl.) all of my other electrical connectors are accounted for. I did read on a forum that it is on the same harness as the ipr connector. I traced the ipr connector and there is only one other electrical connector on it(The ICP) and it has always been plugged in(I never pulled it to do the job). So now I'm left scratching my head trying to locate where my electrical connector for the fuel bowl is. I don't remember exactly unplugging it but that doesn't mean I did/did not. My "water in fuel light" isn't always on so I would assume that it has been plugged in before? Can anyone share any information as to its location I.e. What harness does it come from or what the connector might look like, so I know where to look. I've moved things all around and traced wires with no luck. Thanks!

It should be right in that vicinity...if it still exists. That bowl heater and connector are a source of problems and it it possible that the PO cut it off. Just snipping it and not protecting the ends would not be the right thing to do but it could be done. Do you have a set of snipped wires there? That thing is no big deal, it's more trouble than it's worth unless, maybe if you live in the great white north.

What Walleye said.

If you have it, it is right there and your light will not be on if it is unplugged. Mine was unplugged and left lying at the base of the filter bowl. I plugged it back in until have time to remove the filter bowl heater. I want to retain the water in the fuel light.

Mine has been unplugged for 12 years. I live in the great white and haven't noticed a loss. Pull your terminals for a half hour, reconnect and see if the big brain seals the deal on the water situation.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the replies, I had to leave on a 800 mile round trip shortly after posting the question so I am just now returning home to get back on here. I much appreciate all the direction & feedback. I live in Oklahoma so I don't think it would be an issue to leave it unplugged other than not knowing when I need to drain the water. I did not see any cut wires when I was searching for the connector on Tuesday but I wasn't seeking that out either as I just thought I was going crazy not being able to find the connector on the wire harness. I did read how the heating element gives people problems so it very well could have been unplugged from the start. I don't remember whether I removed it or not. I do know from having the fuel filter out that the bowl still does contain the element at the bottom but that doesn't mean it's working. I'm going to go out and work on it today now that I have returned home and see if I can locate where it might have been or at least locate some cut wires so that I can properly cover them. Thanks for all the help everyone. I'll post an update later if needed.
