i need at least 500 hp out of my 408 but i NEED my e4od
help me i'm losing bragging rights 2 (choke choke) chevy's. i need 2 take my place back.
ps its a 502 thats kickin my tail in a k1500
Well, 500hp from a 408 is very possible. What specific questions do you have? I could run down a list of things but it really depends on your budget, 500hp is the easy part your budget is the main obstacle in obtaining your goal. IF we can have an idea of what you'd like to spend maybe everyone could recommend a head that fits in the budget. Definitely need to look into a main girdle if you haven't already. What efi you plan on using (stock or aftermarket or a combination of both)? Later
i guy owes me big money and lied about an aluminum block 351. it was going to be a fair trade for services rendered but i got the short end. i have the bill for the heads they are some kind of trick flow units triple spring full roller valve train BIG valves and ports. can the factory computer keep up with that kind of power? i need my e4od so no c6. if i need more over drive can i put a gear vender od between my t-case and tranny? i have someone to buy the heads what would be the best option for a daily driver mud runner
IF you have or are getting the trick flow given to you then go with them they are a decent head. Were they ported any? You can use the gear vendor but it isn't cheap. YOu will have to burn a chip or go with a maf setup and tuner to achieve the 500 hp if all you do is add the heads it should run fine but when you add the cam to make all of it come together it will more than likely not. later Are you the fellow that posted he bought an aluminum block from some racer a month or so ago?
yea he had the "motor" in a shipping crate so i only got a quick glance. painted all pretty silver fooled me till i actually got a real look and not through the poly. the heads are ported but not to sore how much
Unless you already have the heads or should this be something that person is offering to you you might decline. IF it is ported too much it might not be what you are looking for with a high hp motor in a truck. It might be in your best interest to run non ported aftermarket heads and use aftermarket heads that are intended for your needs you may end up with something that will kill your torque going with a ported aftermarket head, but that is your call. I knew when you posted you had a aluminum 351 that something wasn't right, and you should have put your foot in that guys a$$. Let me know what you think, later
