Need help finding a certain hitch.
I purchased a new trialer yesterday from trialers plus. The problem is that it requires a 2 5/16" ball. I have that, no problem. I use my Ford transit to tow it.
The problem:
I have 2 other trailers that use the 2" ball.
I have a Ford explorer and Ford edge that have the 1 1/4" (I don't know the name) piece that inserts into the hitch slot. These have a 2" ball.
Where can I find a hitch that is: do they even make this?
1 1/4" insert piece
2 5/16" ball
Do I need to look for a different size shank as well?
If they make 2 5/16" ***** with the thinner shank, this would solve my problem.
I've looked online for 2hrs but no luck yet

I was afraid of that.. Makes sense just sucks for me. It means I can't use my other 2 suv vehicles to come to the rescue if needed.

Not sure if you’ve solved your issue yet,
but they do make 2-5/16 ***** with a 1” shank. Those can be found at Walmart most any day. Northern tool and tractor supply are both another good source for this type of stuff.
they also make 1-1/4 to 2” adapters to put the bigger shanks in a small hitch.
if you are looking for a 2-5/16 ball with a 3/4” shank, that’s going to be quite a bit harder to find. It would be easier to find a 1-1/4” ball mount with a 1” hole and get a 2-5/16 ball with a 1” shank.
id be careful towing any trailer that takes a 2-5/16 ball on a 1-1/4” ball mount. Not that it is dangerous by itself, but it going to be really easy to overload the hitch. Trailers with that size ball are usually capable of holding more than 6,000 lbs, which is why they use the bigger ball.
