Thumbs up Trailer TPMS/Camera installation

Ive just (finally) had the kit installed on my 2 horse goose-neck by Sundowner in Auburn,CA and have to say, its not essential, but it sure does help a whole bunch, the extra camera on the back of the trailer, the TPMS for each of the 4 wheels and the magic twisty **** thing that never jackknifes your trailer.. The mechanic that installed it said it was a breeze and all worked out really well, cost me about $400 all in on a 22ft with loads of cable to spare.
For anyone looking t get someone to do this, if youre in the area, Sundowner know what theyre doing, walked through camera placement, TPMS sensor placement, even where to put the storage port for the 12pin..

Anyone else had one of these installed on their trailer?

I've had my camera/TPMS installed for four years. The TPMS is more useful than the camera. I mounted my camera too high so I don't get much detail from it.

TPMS sensors? Or the receiver and wiring for just the TPMS side of the system without the camera?

I have a 2021 F250 Super Duty with Backup Assist. After purchasing we discovered that the backup assist wouldn't work for a 5th wheel without the factory installed 5th wheel package. Thanks to this forum we did find a work around with Nichols Manufacturing and we did get it too work. However, we now are wondering if we could puchase the trailer backup camera and it would work as well with the 12 pin plug we installed for the sensor.

I've got some posts in other threads on this subject you might find helpful:

I finally got my Ford Aux Camera and TPMS kit and, from my experience:
* Ford promotes Super Duty towing but IMO, does a ****-poor job of providing information about the options they sell including differences between the kits, what comes with them and any info about installation
* Ford parts people and dealership people have little to no useful information about these kits

I had to walk my parts guy through the options referring him to Ford websites which are woefully inadequate. He told me it would come with the Yaw Sensor which I came with my F350 which has the UTT package. I knew it didn't but wouldn't have complained if it did. Of course he was wrong.

FYI: This weekend I read through the photocopied lousy instructions from Ford that came with the kit and found out that I'd have to replace the bumper mounted plug unit (1 plug unit has both trailer plugs in it) with the one supplied in the kit. It would have been good to know this and know that the kit replaces that plug's flat 5 pin trailer connector with the Camera Plug connector (in the lower position). And the kit comes with a 7-pin-to-5-pin adapter should you need to plug in a trailer with a flat, 5-pin plug.

By the way, if you have the Yaw Sensor and actually want to use it for the "Pro Trailer Backup Assist", you'll have 3 cables connected: (1) trailer lighting, (2) Yaw Sensor cable for Pro Trailer Backup Assist (those 2 go into the plugs inside the bed), and (3) the Camera cable that plugs into the new replacement plug in the bumper). <-- This is incorrect (see below for correct info)

Here's a pic from https://www.levittownfordparts.com/s...8aAlLREALw_wcB (note this link is for -E version) that shows what's in the kit. Last 3 items in the lowest row are, in order: the adapter, the replacement bumper plug and the TPMS sensor.

Here's some links:

This is about as much info as I could find on Ford towing - 46 pages
https://www.fleet.ford.com/content/d...owingGuide.pdf

This screen capture is from page 45 (forget about the parts guy knowing the differences between -A through -F):

Owners Manual (for those who aren't yet owners interested in learning about this stuff) links:

Integrated Ford Brake Controller:

Trailer Tire Pressure Monitoring System:

Diesel Engine Exhaust Brake (not easy to find info on this from Ford) - this is what I've found so far:

This is better than FoMoCo's info: https://www.sherwoodford.ca/blog/6-7...ust-braking/#/

From the manual: https://www.fordservicecontent.com/F...userMarket=USA

Of course this place is more helpful than Ford: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...-settings.html
