Hi everyone, I'm out on the road and wiper linkage has dropped off the wiper motor shaft. I can get the wiper motor out, but I'm unfamiliar with what's there. I can see a clip on the bottom of the arm that attaches to the motor shaft. I can get the arm on the shaft, but can't seem to get the arm to click on the shaft of the motor with the clip. I can't get the clip off. I was hoping to get the clip off, reassemble, then put the clip back on. No joy. Haynes manual not helpful in this area. Am I on the right track?
Interesting the clips aren't more readily available if this is the correct part. Part #6 on the diagram., part # E3TZ-17531-A
The E3 in the part number indicates that the clip was first used in 1983 while the web site shows the clip fitting up to 2021. So almost any ford van at a salvage yard would have this clip. The local dealer should have them unless they are out of stock like the one I got the info from https://www.oemfordpart.com/oem-part...lip-e3tz17531a
I carry all the big box auto parts stores app on my phone, that part number (I agree that seems to be the one) doesn't come up. So, I'm off to the dealer, then eBay. Sadly, at last check the Pull-A-Part in Nashville has crushed all their Ford vans in this era, perhaps some new ones will come along.
