I HAD TO LOOK UP THE PRODUCT: "Detoxit D5 tuner cleaner."
WHY USE THAT PRODUCT IS ANSWERED IN YOUR SIGNATURE MAKES SENSE NOW.
I JUST FINISHED USING A 30 YEAR OLD BOTTLE OF ELECTRIC MOTOR SPRAY, NO LONGER AVAILABLE, Detoxit D5 tuner cleaner SHOULD BE A GOOD REPLACEMENT.
GOOD SUGGESTION!!
Yeah, I use it on volume and tone pots on guitars and amps when they get scratchy, and just about any kind of switch that acts up. I can't imaging being without a can of it.

I don't know where I'd find Detoxit D5 locally, I've not looked for that before so I'm not sure if any of the local places stock it, but I'll look. I've got some transmission problems that prevent me from driving too far, so I have some time to look into this window problem. I've only been driving the truck short distances from where I live. I get a few miles and then the transmission starts to act up. I'll see if I can figure out the issue with the window this weekend.
I've owned the truck for more than half my life and I've had so much fun playing with it, from rebuilding the motor, slapping on the super charger, replacing the ECU, and changing the model of transmission. For me, it's a fun project.
When I got my father's 1990 F150 about 2 years ago I had a similar problem with the power windows. After pulling both inner door panels off and inspecting/cleaning the switches I still had the same problem. Closer inspection showed a significant amount of corrosion on the switch contacts. I broke out my old points file, yes I still have one, then spent some quality time cleaning up the grime and a few pits. 30 minutes later both windows worked perfect from both sets of switches. Under load the extra resistance was acting as a currrent limiter which stops the motor from working.
For reference here is the power window circuit for a 1992 model year F-Series/Bronco
Came here to say this. Half the time you're better off fixing old electronics than rolling the dice with new ones anyway.
