I have a 1992 F150 that I have owned since 1996. I have noticed that when I am in the driver's seat and want to put the passenger window up it is difficult. Putting the window down is easy but I am not able to use the switch on the driver's side to put the window up. When the window rolls up and meets resistance, it stops, so it only moves about half an inch and stops. If I reach over to the passenger side and use the switch on the passenger door for that window, it works fine. So there is some sort of difference between the driver's side switch and the switch for the window on the passenger side.
, iI you start by using the passenger switch the entire time do you get an interruption? If no the wiring could be the issue. If not the regulator might be compromised at the hang up area and need replacing.

I don't drink so that can't be it. Where did I read it wrong? It sounded to me like you have a problem with the passenger window stopping.
Well, between the first post you put up and the edited version of that first post...both made no sense.
Where do you think the "regulator" is and the "hang up area" is?
The reason why I mentioned that I've owned this truck since 1996 is to let everyone know that I've worked on this truck for a few years and I reach out to this forum when I think there might be someone who has more knowledge about the truck than I have. With that said, I've made so many modifications to this truck than most and I know something about how they work. I don't think many here have pulled out their engine wiring harness and reinstalled it.
What is the difference between the switch on the driver's side vs. the passenger side? The window goes up and down with no problem, it's just the switch that is used.
I can see by your sig that you have plenty of knowledge if you did it yourself. I just replaced the driver side glass on my truck so I know where the regulators are. I have seen fractured regulators that cause hang up. If you are only asking about the wiring itself then I misunderstood your post.

I've not replaced the glass but have replaced the motor on the driver's side, such a pain. Motor on passenger side seems fine, window goes up fast... seems to be powerful as long as I use the switch on the passenger side but not driver's side.
Since I know very little about wiring, if I was doing it on my truck, I would remove the panel and swap window switch wiring. Obviously you have power to the switch to start the window up so my GUESS is the switch is not working correctly. Have you tried raising the window and having it stop 1" up then using the passenger door switch to go half way up and then tried your driver side button at that point?

The switch on the passenger side works fine, both up and down. It's the driver's side switch that I have the problem with. When I use the driver's side switch I can only get the window to go up about a half inch at a time and the window stops. If I then reach over to use the switch on the passenger side, I can get the window to go all the way up as if the truck was new back in 1992. I've seen it degrade over the last 10 years or so.

I understand your issue. If the passenger window is all the way down will it go all the way without stopping using the passenger switch only?
You have an electrical issue between driver side switch and power to the passenger side motor.
Could be a ground or the switch, or the driver side wire, or if there is a relay in-between.
Time to get an electrical schematic, see where the plugs are, get the volt meter and start testing.
I do drink, was not drunk, the hang up area is where the window slows down, bogs down, gets caught on something, I assume.
There is no hang up area on the passenger side.
The hang up area is in the ground or power between driver side and passenger side.
When I got my father's 1990 F150 about 2 years ago I had a similar problem with the power windows. After pulling both inner door panels off and inspecting/cleaning the switches I still had the same problem. Closer inspection showed a significant amount of corrosion on the switch contacts. I broke out my old points file, yes I still have one, then spent some quality time cleaning up the grime and a few pits. 30 minutes later both windows worked perfect from both sets of switches. Under load the extra resistance was acting as a currrent limiter which stops the motor from working.
For reference here is the power window circuit for a 1992 model year F-Series/Bronco
At the risk of getting yelled at let me offer this, my 94 F250 had the same problem at one point and it was a simple matter of the plug on the driver side master switch had become dirty and crusty. I cleaned it and the switch using Detoxit D5 tuner cleaner. Just unplugged the switch sprayed the contacts in the plug, sprayed into the switch. Be sure to let everything dry! Problem solved. Worked for me.
